Home Carbonation 101 - Crash Course
Fill any PET bottle (except for Coke brands because the thread size is incompatible) with the beverage you want to carbonate leaving about a two inch gap at the top. The more room you leave here the faster will be the carbonation.
Put the Fizz Giz cap on the bottle, but leave it a little loose, so that air can escape.
Now squeeze the bottle forcing the air out just enough so the gap at the top disappears, and the bottle contains nothing but the drink.
Tighten the lid while maintaining the bottle partially squeezed. The bottle should now contain nothing but liquid and remain compressed even after releasing the squeeze.
Stick the nozzle of the Fizz Giz into the valve of the cap and squeeze the trigger. The CO2 will now enter the bottle making it hard, and the flow of the gas will stop at the proper pressure.
Remove the nozzle and shake the bottle. At this point the bottle should become noticably softer and easier to squeeze.
Repeat the process of adding CO2 and shaking two or three more times until the bottle will accept no more gas. And that's it. You're done!
